Quarry Life Award is a competition held by the activities of Heidelberg Cement (Indocement group) every year. This activity aims to preserve biodiversity in the surrounding mm lampadari area of the mine. However, for the first time this event was held in Indonesia in 2014.
Quarry Life Award 2014 attracted interest mm lampadari from a variety of backgrounds, ranging from the Ministry of Environment, Institute for Research in Indonesia, as well as universities throughout Indonesia. Department of Biology, University of Al Azhar Indonesia sent 3 teams in this competition. One of the three teams headed by Geo Septianella (2010) and five of its members, Fatiha Dinul Qoyyimah (2012), Lulu Nisrina (2012), Rosnaeni (2012), Resti Aulunia (2012), and Joseph Baskoro (2012) took the topic of biodiversity through the observation of vegetation relationship with the diversity of dragonflies (Odonata) in Quarry Palimanan. Of the total 120 proposer proposals in competition Quarry life award of Indonesia in 2014, the team was nominated 24 Odonata UAI great at first preliminary stage. Provision for second position in the top 5 teams to realize their research funded by research grants amounting to 8 million dollars. mm lampadari
Of the big 5 finalists, University of Al Azhar Indonesia is the only team from PTS and undergraduate level who survived in the competition. Four other team is a team of professors, researchers, and graduate students. After doing research for less than 10 months, the five teams that qualify to be tested again to determine the top three.
Final presentation mm lampadari is done in Cirebon on 6 November 2014. The team of UAI accompanied by a supervisor, Dr. Goddess Elfidasari. Based on the decision of the jury, the first prize was won by a team of LA Salampessy Yudi (Lecturer Untirta mm lampadari Banten, doctoral student IPB) with a prize of 60 million dollars. Second prize was won by the team Dr.Nisa Rachmania Mubarik (Lecturer Biology IPB) with a gift of 40 million dollars, while the third place was won by the team with the youngest participants who chaired Geo Septianella (Biology student UAI). The team of this UAI receive a prize of 20 million dollars as a token of appreciation PT Indocement to biodiversity conservation.
