Historically, it is believed that it is better for premature solitude and silence provided by an incubator babies. The discovery was led by the director of the Center for Music and Medicine at Beth Israel Hospital in the United States.
Experts noted 272 babies in 11 different neonatal intensive care units across the country. The babies were born after 32 weeks of gestation, at least. Parents of the children also participated in the research to be taught to sing traditional lullabies.
The results showed that babies exposed to music showed positive responses in relation to health. Among the changes, better oxygenation of the blood, the greater length of time of alertness and stress reduction can be observed. The songs chosen by the parents, then, proved to improve diet and gain calories.
Although it is not possible to draw concrete evidence of the study, experts say soft music may be able to contribute to the development of premature babies. Alarms, fans and other repetitive or loud sounds, on the other hand, can negatively affect the child.
