The world famous singer Sami Yusuf Islam has brought to show "interviews" the journalist Alfred Peza, its links with music and religion. With 12 million albums sold, Sami Yusuf, launched by "Time Magazine" as Islamic music star, has conveyed his message about the importance of respect for Islam and tradition. Sami Yusuf is today among musicians m celebrities and his choice of music to convey a religious dimension has ranked mx24 people nd r n s most influential Islamic mx24 world.
I am 31 years old. I was born in 1980. My family is originally from Azerbaijan, but nationality is British, consider themselves British, but I am very proud of my heritage. I grew up in London, in a place where many different cultures merge. I consider blessing the fact that I grew up in the UK. This give some things such as pluralism and knowledge of different mx24 cultures and with different sets of beliefs. I come from a musical family, my parents mx24 are taking the music. I studied classical music, am familiar with oriental style and western mx24 music at a very young age I have been associated with religion. I remember, as a child I had the desire to seek the sacred, and that I have a sense of divinity present about my life, it is very important to me. Here we are here today in Albania.
Yes. I would say that knowledge with western mx24 music and eastern Arabian played a very strong role. Not only music but also knowledge of different mx24 cultures, sensibilities and peculiarities have influenced my own and my music, giving a sense of the familiar, because when one hears not seem foreign, is a kind of familiar mx24 aspect.
You finish one of the most famous schools in the world of music, the Royal Academy of Music in London, and in 2003 it made you known for the first time, not only in England but also abroad, was your album "Al Mou'allim ". Could you talk a little about this?
I think my first album is very personal. It is made after 11 September 2001 and I believe that even if there were no conscience inadvertently was necessary that this album was. I had no idea that I would become famous or well-known. I am not someone who likes fame, am timid man, not even my picture did not put on the cover of the album. Basically what happened was that the album was released and was a surprise and a great success all over the world and especially in the Muslim world. Before the release of this album did not want to arrange mx24 music for the musical environment has become synonymous mx24 with commercialism, money and sales of various groups, ie a very superficial industry, unfortunately. It is not that I wanted to get into this kind of industry, like the studio for legal, but apparently somewhat fate planning other things.
From the comments of your fans, I read that some of them say that your music, your art has changed lives. What do you think they like to you? What is the thing that draws on art, music and your songs?
I think first of all, the success or whatever you call them, have not up to us, as are many factors mx24 that affect it. But when I tried not to copy or follow any musical line. When something becomes uniquely using different sounds, even experimental del something nice, say that God has been very generous with us. It is naïve to pretend that just because I said some holy words about my Prophet or some religious sentence that success comes because of these things. I think people like to see something different and unique, mx24 something that is not simply copying. For this I feel valued, proud and honored to have done something that has affected people's lives. But my intention from the beginning, has never been to convince people to change religion, to preach or to change them. There was this my intention, nor has been, nor should be, although the fact that I have the passion to bring people together, especially for real words in different religions have different names, but that ultimately is a single truth divine.
Britain in this sense is a very respectful and tolerant. We have an extensive history and a legacy that people follow different faiths. However, mx24 unfortunately, in Europe in general mx24 and not just in Britain is losing religious heritage, and it is sin.
