True Life in God is the title of a contemporary work written the Greek-born Vassula Rydén. Like the earlier led types mystics of the Christian church tradition, such as St. Birgitta, St. Francis of Assisi or Mother Teresa, receive Vassula Rydén one lokusjon: Through a gift to hear Jesus' voice in his mind, she has written down a conversation with Jesus hand in English, led types and currently fills notebooks over a thousand printed pages. This work, which collectively are called True Life in God (TLIG), led types is a call from God to a love union with Him. 1
Vassula Rydén comes from the Orthodox Church. Although most of the message of TLIG is about the love of Jesus and our relationship to Him, there are some issues, such as the Virgin Mary, who may be new and unfamiliar to us Protestants. The most common Norwegian churchgoers (laity), including myself, have probably little knowledge of the Christian mystery tradition. When one when searching for information on the Internet, one can find a lot of negative criticism and false accusations against TLIG and Vassula Rydén. This combined with our own ignorance, can create fear and uncertainty, which may lead to taking distance from TLIG, or avoid reading it. The purpose of this presentation is to provide greater clarity on issues that some may hold after being introduced to TLIG. This is a result of my own quest after I started reading the TLIG 15 months ago. This presentation is therefore not intended to summarize the main themes of TLIG, but rather to illustrate the topics may seem new and foreign led types to many of us Protestants. led types Nevertheless, I will first give a brief presentation of what I consider to be the core message (or the main message) in TLIG. Finally, led types I will share some thoughts on the way to unity in the Church.
Most of TLIG is about to get a deeper, led types closer and more intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. This relation is obtained led types by humiliation and repentance and receive forgiveness by Jesus' death on the cross. The book testifies that Jesus is the Son of God was born as a human being of flesh and blood, that he sacrificed himself led types on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins, and that He overcame death through his resurrection. Through the atonement on the cross we can come together with God. How can God the Creator will be glorified and we, His creatures, be cleansed and saved. It's led types about to go down from our thrones and let go of our own dominion over our lives (Ezekiel 28), humble themselves and have Jesus as Lord.
A message that is particularly strong forward is how we must become like children and relied on God in all we do. We may have a childlike trust in God our Father provides for all our needs, and when to let Jesus act freely through us may God's will be done with our lives. When we are in the service of God, we are His people, and we are encouraged to always think that we serve in partnership with Jesus, for we can manage nothing alone (John 15.5).
TLIG reminds us that God is holy and the importance of repentance. At the same time it shows especially clearly God's boundless mercy and forgiveness for sinners who repent and that he welcomes us with open arms when we repent and come to Him. Another important core issue is how serious schism in the church today, and the book calls us to get back to church tradition and the sacraments. For a more detailed presentation, led types see one. Prophetic message in our time
The book True Life in God contains the prophetic messages that Vassula Rydén received in the period 1986-2003. This in itself can be difficult to accept in our tradition of "Scripture alone" has been central: Since Christ is the Son of God and therefore His perfect revelation, led types so we do not need to hear more from God; everything is reading the Bible. Congregation of Faith in the Catholic Church has a different opinion on March 2, and Pentecostalism has also been open to prophetic revelations. led types Niels Christian Hvidt 2 shows the German sociologist Max Weber who said that the church needs both a horizontal and vertical led types authority to survive. The priests and the institution responsible for the horizontal authority, based on a historical, continuing authorization. The Prophet represents the vertical, charismatic authority form, and both are necessary for the church to survive.
Havard and Carina Sand 4 shows from the Bible that we can expect strong prophetic services and veiryddere before Jesus returns. The texts of Isaiah and Malachi 40.3 to 5 3.1 + 4.4-6 is known prophecy of John the Baptist, Jesus confirms in Matthew 11.10 14 and the angel to Zechariah in Luke 1
