A world expected a new Orange Revolution in Ukraine?
Ukraiana continues to recover from the massive demonstrations that have gripped its capital on Sunday, in a sign of opposition to the government's decision to pull out of an important trade agreement with the European Union. Organisers have promised daily demonstrations throughout the week. Sunday's protests, which have collected tens of thousands of people, some of them setting up tents, have stirred memories of the Orange Revolution, which was followed by the formation of the pro-Western government, nine years ago. Led by Viktor Yushchenko and Yulia Tymoshenko, the protests of 2004 have reversed the outcome of the presidential election, won by Viktor Yanukovych, can light the current president. The protests led to the re-runs, which were won by Yushchenko. The latter has served as president until 2010, when Yanukovych has won presidential.
